I've been looking for a wreath for our front door for the spring/summer. I've had a hard time finding one a like, and if I have, it's been more than I've been willing to spend. So, I headed to Hobby Lobby and decided to make one myself. I picked up a wreath, a few flowers, a few other supplies and headed home to get creative. About 15 minutes later, and I had a wreath to be proud of - GO ME!

Quick trip to the farm
Joey and I made a quick weekend trip to East Texas - aka the farm (or parm, as Joey calls it). He got to spend a little time with nana and papa (Joe's parents).
How sweet is this picture? Joey watching Papa. I love it! |
What makes this kid happy? Playing with his "short chair" and small Coke bottle. |

Joey: 19 Months
Joey is still hovering around that 20 pound mark at 19 months.
Still not taking those first steps, Joey has transitioned from the “booty scoot” to full-on knee walking. He is up on his knees in the walking motion. He will also sit, put his left foot on the ground, like taking a step, and drag his backside and right leg along. Whatever mode of transportation that will work while having something in his hands, he will do. I don’t think he realizes that walking would actually be easier than what he’s doing. He continues to walk behind toys, along ledges and will walk with us holding onto just one hand now.
Joey’s vocabulary continues to expand. He now says: mouth, ears, Sam Sam, farm, Ernie, poo poo and goodbye.
Not much has changed in the last month as far as eating or sleeping is concerned.
Joey continues to be a sweetheart. He will give kisses to mommy on request. It’s very sweet. His love affair with the cats continues, as does his love for books.
In the past month, I’ve noticed Joey becoming attached with blankies in the crib. He doesn’t seem to care which blanky it is, just likes to have one in there. In the past few days, he’s even fallen asleep under one, which is unusual. With the warm summer months quickly approaching, Nana (Joe’s mom) is making Joey a few top sheets so he can still have his blanky but won’t get so hot.
Daddy helped with distraction for this month’s photo, making the process a whole lot easier.

Bubbles!!!
This cracked me up! Just Joey and daddy playing with bubbles. Before I grabbed my phone to start recording, he was crawling up on top of Joe to grab at the bubbles. The footage isn't quite that intense, but it's pretty funny.

Blue Bonnets - Joey's 18 Month & Family Pics
I just love when the blue bonnets bloom. I didn't realize how lucky we were last year, this year they were a little lackluster, but we went ahead with the "photo shoot."

Let there be light
As you know, we've been doing a little update here and a little update there around the house. We finally updated two of the three fixtures in the kitchen. The one above the sink and the one above the table in the breakfast nook area. We still have the old florescent, but Joe and I have to agree on a replacement before we worry about that. Baby steps, but that puts us one step closer.

Walking Man
We're getting there. Joey will now walk on his own, with the assistance of his little push toys. He'll grab onto it from the window sill or ottoman and take off. Until he hits a wall, pile of toys, or anything else that gets in his way.

Baseball Fan
Apparently Joey is a baseball fan. Early tonight, Joe was watching highlights and Joey got so excited. He would see the ball get hit into the outfield and point and yell "Ball!" When the Rangers game came on, the kiddo stood at the ottoman for 45 minutes with his bat and ball watching the game, pointing and yelling "Ball!" I think a game is a must in the near future.
The tile is in!
The saga of the tile is complete! We have a little finish work to do, mostly just installing the transition pieces, but the tile is in, the grout is sealed, everything is back where it belongs and the house has been cleaned of the layer of dust from the installation.
Whew, but it will all be worth it.

Kitty in the Crib
Joey loves the kitties so much. I put Jackson in his crib when he'd woken up for the morning.
