Joey: 7 Months

Three days late, but worth the wait...Joey is 7 months old!

This little guy is a joy to be around! He finds everything hilarious and is a very happy baby.

Joey has learned to scoot and is a pro at moving himself backward and in a circle in either direction. He get up on his haunches and will push his front end up, but never both at the same time. Crawling is certain in the near future.

This month Joey has mastered the jumperoo. He now jumps and laughs and screeches from the jumperoo and has an all-around good time. He definitely loves to spend more and more time in it.

He also loves his high chair. As long as he's got toys and a clean spoon, he will sit in it while we cook dinner, eat dinner, clean the kitchen, etc. He loves to sit upright and be able to see what's going on.

He continues to be more and more amused with the animals, especially the cats. He loves to pet them and watch them walk by.

Joey sleeps on average 8-10 hours at night and takes a 1-2 hour morning nap and 1-2 hour evening nap. He enjoys his crib - looking over the bumper when he's awake and just checking things out.

Joey loves to eat. He continues to enjoy rice and oatmeal cereal in addition to pears, apples, bananas, peas, green beans, sweet potatoes, squash, chicken and turkey baby food.

Although we didn't have an appointment with the pediatrician we weighed Joey in at around 17 pounds.

Video time

Joey loves his Baby Einstein videos! And we don't mind them either, giving us a few minutes to run the vacuum, iron or fold a load of laundry.

Little Man on the Move

Lately we have a hard time keeping this kiddo in one place for too long. He's a little scoocher - moving back and forth and in circles. Crawling shouldn't be too far off!

Fur Baby Update

Abby lives for milk from the cereal bowl. On this morning I didn't think she needed any, but she thought otherwise and helped herself.

Bailey got a new do! She's part Border Collie and had the thickest hair which, of course, sheds like crazy. We decided to give her (and the vacuum) a little relief by giving her a haircut.

Here's the after shot

It may not look like much, but here's the aftermath.

Great job Joe! She looks (and I'm sure feels) fantastic!

We're Back!

Has it really been two weeks since my last post? Wow, I feel terrible about that! Work has been insane and I'm just now getting back to this.

Joey had a little rough week this week. I'm not sure if it was just allergies or what the deal was, but he was sneezing and had quite the runny nose. Poor little guy couldn't breathe well enough to sleep very well. He is on the up-swing and sleep has returned, most nights.

Pardon the "blog post bomb," but I'm going to put up several posts from photos and video taken over the past couple of weeks.

Women's Luncheon

Joey and I headed out to East Texas this weekend to spend time with family and for the ladies of the family to get together for a women's luncheon at Pam's church.

We had a nice time and got to spend some good quality time together. Joey got a lot of attention. At one point I looked over and Pam, Rob, Ben and Kelley were on the floor in a circle around him playing with him. It made me smile and my heart melt. He is so loved. I realized when we were leaving how few pictures I took (none). Luckily Aunt Shannon snapped one of Uncle Ben rocking Joey to sleep. So sweet.
